Volkswagen has announced its new Taos compact SUV, expected to launch in 2021. The Taos will be equipped with a new version of the 1.5-liter EA211 turbocharged engine with high-tech features for better fuel economy and performance.
The Taos will be the smallest SUV in the Volkswagen lineup but the largest subcompact SUV in its class. So if you’re looking for a small, easy to maneuver SUV but you need the extra cargo space and cabin room, the Taos is a perfect choice for you.
The new EA211 engine includes upgrades like APS-coated cylinder liners to reduce friction thereby saving energy, a high-pressure injection system that puts out more power using less fuel, and a map-controlled cooling module.
It also comes with Variable Turbine Geometry. Typically found on small-batch luxury cars, VTG is an innovative turbocharger that delivers more boost than the average turbo system and is more fuel-efficient.
In addition to its outstanding fuel economy and thrilling ride, the 2022 Volkswagen Taos packs plenty of smart tech to keep you entertained on any journey. Volkswagen will pack it with a standard 6.5-inch color touchscreen or an available 8-inch, as well as a standard digital cockpit instrument cluster.
Volkswagen is making a lot of typically higher-end features standard on the upcoming Taos, including push-button start and automatic LED headlights. So no matter what trim level you get, you’ll have the convenience and comfort you need.
