As one of the most popular cities in America, Memphis is home to a number of attractions that draw in millions of visitors every year. There are plenty of ways to spend a long weekend so here are a few Labor Day activities in Memphis suggested by us here at Gossett VW Germantown!
- Graceland – Elvis Presley rose to super-stardom, and while he’s no longer with us, his home remains. The Graceland Mansion is often referred to as the second most famous house in America, and for good reason. The mansion sitting on 14 acres of land and houses all of Presley’s mementos, stage costumes, and much more. Travel through time as you walk through the house and pay your final respects to Presley.
- Memphis Zoo – A visit to the Memphis Zoo is a great way to spend a day. The zoo is home to thousands of animals including mammals, fish, amphibians, and birds. In addition to a diverse amount of exhibits, the Memphis Zoo also holds animal shows and special events on a regular basis!
- Beale Street – If you want to experience the culture of Memphis, there’s no better place to start than Beale Street. The street is home to the Civil War headquarters of General Grant as well as the birthplace of rock ‘n roll. A trip down Beale Street is one of the best ways to take in the city’s culture!
